It Technician
My Derbyshire based client seek an IT Technician to strengthen their team. The main purpose of this role is to provide a single point of contact for end users to receive support and maintenance within my clients computing environment.
The right candidate will be able to perform analysis, diagnosis and resolution of computer problems and recommend and implement corrective solutions. You will be capable of troubleshooting problem areas (in person, by telephone or via email ) in a timely and accurate fashion and provide end user assistance where required. This will include installing, diagnosing and repairing PC hardware and equipment.
This is primarily a linux / Unix based role and i need somebody who has experience with Linux servers ( redhat / Cent OS ) and Linux Physical Servers / Unix / some windows.
Some other responsibilites include -
- Providing 1ST line support by responding to incoming calls, emails and ticket system regarding problems.
- Write technical specifications for purchase of PCs, desktop hardware and related products
- Install, configure, test, maintain and support troubleshoot hardware and software in order to deliver required service levels.
- Linux physical server and virtual server installation ( hardware / OS / Application / Database )
- General network management ( config of LAN, switches and routers )
