Helen Perkins and Emily Garces Art Exhibition at Big Blue Coffee Shop on Saddlers Gate
Helen Perkins and Emily Garces will be hosting a joint painting exhibition with 30 original eye-catching canvases.
Helen’s paintings include modern portraiture and paintings inspired by people asleep or on holiday wearing their sunglasses. Her images are large and realistic with a smooth style and attention to detail. The young PR manager is primarily self taught. She held previous exhibitions in Lancaster last year and has been commissioned by people from across the country.
Emily’s work includes subjects taken from nature and the imagination and she is inspired by the time she spent living in Argentina where she met her husband. After hosting exhibitions in South America and Europe she moved back to Derby this year. She says she loves to paint bright uplifting images. Emily also has wings on display in the window of Boo, the fair trade shop on Saddlers gate.
Their free exhibition opens at 7-8pm on Monday 21 September at Big Blue Café, on Sadler Gate, Derby. Everyone is welcome and the café will be serving drinks and snacks. The canvases on display are all for sale and will brighten the walls of Big Blue for the following week.
Images of the artists work can be viewed at http://www.helenperkins.webs.com and http://www.emilygarces.net
The pair both accept commissions and will be attending the opening evening to discuss their work.
