Temporary Works Design Engineer
Our client is looking to recruit a Temporary Works Design Engineer within its office in Matlock. You will undertake the design and co-ordination of temporary works, from the initial feasibility assessment through to detailed design.
During the design phase you will review the initial scope of works and produce advice as to the constructability and sequencing of the temporary works and provide input into method statements generated by site teams. In addition to this you will also be required to advise site teams and tender teams on the constructability of Client's permanent works designs and offer alternatives where appropriate. You will also assist with identifying competent designers & contractors for each type of temporary works, and to co-ordinate & supervise their work if subcontractors are employed.

• Battered & supported excavations
• Formwork & falsework
• Working platforms for piling rigs & cranes
• Access & haul roads
• All forms of access and protective scaffolds
• Hoardings
• Plant & pedestrian bridges
• Thrust restraint for pipeline pressure tests
Qualifications & Experience:
• Civil Engineering degree
• Working towards or recently achieved Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status
• Post-graduate experience in civil, structural or geotechnical engineering
• Proven experience of the design of civil or structural engineering works with experience in the design & supervision of temporary works for civil engineering projects
• Excellent communication and analytical skills
